D. Online Courses and Tutorials
Students take correspondence courses with instructors by phone, mail, fax and email in many different subject areas. Some organizations and colleges offering these programs are:

• Education Program for Gifted Youth (EPGY), Stanford University
• Merlyn’s Pen Mentors in Writing Program

E. Early College Enrollment Academies during school year
Early college programs allow high school students to enroll as a college freshman in the fall of their junior year, giving them the opportunity to earn college credit, as well as earn their high school diplomas. Some are known as Commuter Programs and allow for a student to live in their own home. Other programs are Residential and offer high school students the opportunity to live in special dorms at the college while attending college classes on campus. Colleges offering early programs include:
• Bard High School Early College
• Mary Baldwin College for the Exceptionally Gifted
• University of Washington Early Entrance Program
• USC Resident Honors Program
