Parents
Welcome to adMISSIONPOSSIBLE.com!

Listen, we know it’s not easy being a parent of a kid who is applying to college. We’ve been there done that ourselves. Like many parents, you have probably been deluged with:

  • Parent talk about colleges since your child began middle school (maybe  even earlier)
  • Hearsay about a frenzy of activities, classes, tutors, summer and special programs other families are engaging in, all in the name of college admissions
  • News reports of more and more students applying to colleges
  • Magazine articles saying how difficult it is to get into college

One of this website’s goals is to help you as a parent (or grandparent or mentor) find your way around the admissions process, whether your child is a 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grader. We tell you step-by-step what should be happening and when. We also help your child find colleges that are “right” for him or her, and then what to do to gain acceptance at those schools.

And for the tricky world of parenting teens, we also try to provide some guidance about what to say and do (and not do) with and for your kids.

Information is available in short form in the 15 The Real Buzz About section. It is also available in comprehensive, detailed form in the 15 Guides www. Just so you know, every Buzz and Guide has a special section written just for parents.

We want you to have the best admissions resources available through our website, on the Internet, in books and other resources, and also through other people’s words. You can access that information in the OTHER RESOURCES section of the Home Page.

Our goal is for your high school student to end up at a college that is just right for him or her.

And by the way, if you have questions or comments about what’s on the website, let us know! We’ll answer, add, change, or fix it asap!
