Many colleges have their own admissions applications; however, 400+ U.S. private and public colleges and universities, as well as some outside the U.S., make use of the Common Application. Here is a list of the schools that use the Common App, divided into Private and Public categories and also noting the respective states they are in.
adMISSION POSSIBLE® provides the information in the spirit of having this website be a one-stop shop resource for all students.

25th-75th Percentile Scores
The SAT I includes three sections with scores ranging from 200 to 800: Critical Reading, Math and Writing, with a best total score of 2400. Some colleges now ignore the Writing score and only use the combined score of the Critical Reading and Math tests, with a best total score of 1600.
US News and World Report, guidebooks and other resources often report just the Critical Reading and Math combined test score. This is what is what is reflected on the lists above.
The test scores for each school below are also noted as 25th-75th percentile SAT scores. What this reflects is the middle 50% of the test scores that previous year applicants scored. To help you understand what this means, if you put all of last year's accepted student test scores in one basket, they come out in a bell-shaped curve. ¼ (25%) will have scores in the 0-25th percentile range. ½ (50%) will have scores in the middle 25th-75th percentile range. And ¼ will have scores in the 75-100th percentile range. The higher the percentile range you are in, the greater your chances are for acceptance. Likewise, the lower the percentile range you are in, the lower your chances are for acceptance.
College Acceptance Rate
The percentage reflects the number of students who were accepted to a college, compared to the number of students who applied.
# of Students
The number of undergraduate students at each college or university.
Accepts Common App?
Whether a college accepts The Common Application.
Information for the above list was collected from the Common Data Set, College Navigator, Institute of Education Sciences, National Center for Education Statistics, US News & World Report's Best Colleges, 2014, and The Common Application website. |
